THE GOAL

Rebuild the Pilgrimage website on Squarespace to deliver a more engaging user experience, elevate visual impact, and simplify site management. The new site should captivate visitors through bold animations, immersive lifestyle photography, parallax scrolling, and an easily accessible archive of past festivals.

THE EXECUTION

Fans and potential buyers should feel inspired to explore and stay longer on the website through engaging dynamic elements, an immersive archive of the festival’s history, compelling storytelling pages, and clear calls to action that guide their journey. This would be achieved through bold hero imagery and video that capture the true spirit of Pilgrimage – its crowds, performances, and vibrant lifestyle moments. We’d also prioritize a seamless mobile experience, recognizing that over 70% of festival visitors access the site from their phones.

By drawing from the festival’s rich 10-year archive, we’d craft cinematic, elevated visuals that bring its story to life. These assets would be thoughtfully placed throughout the site to give every page a distinctive, eye-catching energy. Additionally, Squarespace’s design flexibility will allow us to fully express the upcoming 2026 branding, creating a more cohesive experience.

THE DETAILS

The new website would include all the information and pages from the current website, but in a completely fresh and modernized format. Building the site on Squarespace will significantly enhance the user experience – from major touchpoints like the ticketing page to smaller yet essential details such as FAQs and vendor or media applications. As mentioned above, we’d also love to create an immersive archival experience for each past year—similar to the approach on Taylor Swift’s website. Rather than simply displaying content, these pages would feel like a curated journey through each festival, featuring a dynamic mix of photos, videos, GIFs, press highlights, and more.

Below are loose digital renderings of the direction the website could go. The first is a video to show dynamic features. The 2024 archival example is not nearly as robust as I’d imagine we can make these pages. This is simply an example of the concept in a minimized format. These were created using 2025 branding, but the new website would be created to match the upcoming 2026 branding.

INVESTMENT

The new website build outlined above would cost $3,000.
Additionally, Squarespace’s Core plan would cost $276 annually.
